About
Sofia Fernandez
me
My name is Sofia Fernandez. I am the second oldest in my family and am of Honduran descent. My culture is a significant part of my life, and I enjoy incorporating it into my daily life and work. Being Latina will always be an essential part of my identity, and I feel like my love for food, colors, and crafts is very well tied to my ethnic background. I like to draw, sew, and do crafts.
Anything that has to do with expressing my creativity physically and digitally significantly impacts me. One of my favorite things has always been stuffed animals or plushies, and I always try to find ways to incorporate that into my designs and art in one way or another. I hope to eventually become an artist who makes toys. I love anything cute bright and cuddly but my favorite passtime is spending time with my dog Rubi, a 10-year-old chihuahua. She inspires me and is always there to cheer me up and bring me comfort while I work. I also greatly enjoy graphic design and digital art. Throughout high school, I took Graphic Design as my pathway, and I learned much about what I like and don't like. Going into college, I chose to have art as my major, because knowing my fondness for graphic design and art, digital art would be an excellent way to explore my interests in expanding my knowledge of design and art and what can be made by combining the two. I hope to purse a masters degree in fine arts eventually or maybe a masters in creative advertising/design to further reach my goal of working as a toy designer.
