Robo Pop project

For this project, I initially misunderstood the prompt, but I came up with the idea of using baby pictures and personal photos and throwing them into AI. Then, I changed that to follow the prompt more literally. I decided to use three famous paintings and switch between putting my face into the figure using the AI features and then helping it by using chat GPT to describe the original painting and adding that to the AI program to make the face adaptation close and accurate to the original pieces. Besides that, I also realized that many of these iconic and famous paintings made by these artists are full of white women, and it was scarce to find any that have people of color in them, much less women of color. In trying to change that, I also realized that even with AI, it is inherently racist. I struggled a lot trying to make it produce a woman with a darker skin color, and at some point with the Mona Lisa painting, it didn’t even produce her with a dark skin color. I think it made me realize how different skin tones and inclusivity in terms of art is hard, and I imagine since many of the famous paintings and pieces created by renowned artists only highlight caucasian people and set beauty standards to be those caucasian features, they are used to train the ai. When I was working on the swing in Photoshop to change it from a white woman to a brown woman, I had to try many different iterations for the program to produce a figure with dark features. In fact, at some point, I had to find ways around it by describing the stereotypical outerwear of a folkloric dancer for it to make her brown.
