Project 1 +Final Statement

Overall, I am really proud of how this project has turned out. I think I managed to make a really cute character that is a reflection of what I like, and her personality is conveyed pretty well in the bot that I made for her character on Bluesky. I am also really proud of how the animation came out. It was really hard to rig the character, so I struggled a lot with actually making her move and change her expression because the type of facial expressions I made for her character were really simple, and the sounds I attached them to didn't appear as much in the song I wanted to animate her to. Another thing I struggled with was rigging her legs because one of them would rig really well but the other wouldnt and it made the animation look very ugly and not smooth in a way that didnt fit the other limbs movements so when I was making the animation I had decide to just cut out her bottom half and make the video be recorded from her torso and up. It was really fun designing her, and I felt like she turned out exactly how I wanted her to look. Initially, when I was making her, the AI was not giving me characters that looked perfect in the way I wanted her to look. While she did turn out looking similar, I stuck to my sketch and drew her in Procreate, Illustrator, and Photoshop. I also didn't plan to have her wear Astro Boy boots, but they matched her really well, even though the textures were different, and in that same way, I felt like her hoodie matched the vibe of the character really well, too. The contrast was very nice. Another thing I had fun with was creating the word bank for the bot. I felt like using AI was very useful in that aspect, and it was a great way to have her be so expressive. Almost every phrase the AI came up with was pretty comprehensible, and it matched the vibe I wanted the character to have. x
